  2. Know How Your Gift Will Be Used
    To receive clear information about how your donation will be used, including whether it is unrestricted, restricted to a specific program (such as Brighter Futures Ranch, scholarships, or therapy referrals), or designated for a particular campaign or project.

  3. Receive Honest and Accurate Information
    To receive truthful, timely, and accurate information about our finances, programs, and outcomes, including access to our annual reports, financial statements, and IRS filings upon request.

  4. Have Your Intent Honored
    To have your gift used for the purposes for which it was given. If we are unable to use your donation as originally intended, you have the right to be informed and, whenever possible, to help determine an appropriate alternative consistent with our mission.

  5. Privacy and Confidentiality
    To have your personal information handled with strict confidentiality. We do not sell, rent, or trade donor information. Your giving history, contact information, and any personal details you share with us are protected and used only for appropriate organizational purposes.

  6. Choose How and Whether You Are Recognized
    To be acknowledged and thanked in a manner that respects your preferences. You may choose to be publicly recognized, recognized in specific ways (such as naming opportunities), or remain anonymous. We will honor your choice in all public communications and donor listings.

  7. Receive Prompt, Accurate Acknowledgment
    To receive timely, accurate receipts and acknowledgments for your gifts that meet IRS and legal requirements, and that reflect our genuine gratitude for your support.

  8. Ask Questions and Receive Clear Answers
    To ask questions about our finances, governance, programs, and fundraising practices, and to receive respectful, timely, and understandable answers from a knowledgeable representative of Rising From Shadows Foundation.

  9. Expect Ethical and Respectful Fundraising Practices
    To be treated with dignity and respect in all fundraising communications. You have the right to:

    • Be free from pressure, coercion, or guilt‑based appeals

    • Decline to give or to change your level of support at any time

    • Be removed from mailing, email, or call lists upon request

  10. Protection from Misuse of Your Gift or Name
    To expect that your gift, your name, and your story will never be used in a way that is misleading, exploitative, or inconsistent with our mission, values, or trauma‑informed principles.

  11. Responsible Stewardship and Financial Integrity
    To trust that we will manage our resources wisely, maintain appropriate internal controls, follow sound financial policies, and regularly review our practices to ensure accountability and good stewardship of every dollar entrusted to us.

  12. Inclusive, Non‑Discriminatory Treatment
    To know that Rising From Shadows Foundation does not discriminate in its donor relationships or services on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status.

  13. Access to Leadership and Governance Information
    To know the identity of our Board of Directors and leadership, and to expect that they exercise prudent judgment in carrying out their governance and oversight responsibilities.

  14. Voice Concerns or Complaints Without Retaliation
    To share concerns, complaints, or feedback about our fundraising, communications, or use of funds and to have those concerns taken seriously, reviewed promptly, and addressed without retaliation or negative consequence.
